Facts vs. fiction

In the history of kung fu, it is not easy to distinguish fact from fiction. The genre of wuxia makes much that is invented seem true. Moreover, much information was passed down orally. Furthermore, during the Cultural Revolution, much of China’s heritage was destroyed.

Part of my knowledge comes from the tradition within the lineage, that is, through my teachers. Another part I got from my research in literature and internet. To get as close to the truth as possible, I match the information with historical events. Nevertheless, I cannot avoid drawing my own conclusions and making assumptions.

I am glad about hints to misinformation and I am willing to learn.
